This lot is produced using a traditional honey process. Fresh, carefully selected red cherries are delivered to Osolo Station, where they are de-pulped without the use of water, leaving the sticky fruit mucilage intact. The coffee is then dried on raised beds for 12–13 days, with careful turning and monitoring to ensure even drying. Othosololo's cool nights, moderate sunshine, and lush growing environment allow sugars to develop slowly during maturation, contributing to a cup with vibrant acidity, rich sweetness, and a syrupy body.

PRODUCER

Osolo Station, Daye Bensa

Region

Greitu Korsa, Guji, Oromia

The Othosololo honey lot comes from Osolo Washing Station in Guji, Ethiopia, where Daye Bensa works with around 200 smallholder farmers from the surrounding communities. The station takes its name from the Sidamic word Osolo, meaning "laughter," reflecting the joyful spirit of the people and place. Since beginning as coffee producers in 1996, Daye Bensa has become one of Ethiopia's most respected exporters, earning multiple top placements in the Cup of Excellence through their unwavering commitment to quality. We've proudly partnered with Daye Bensa since 2020, sourcing coffees from several of their washing stations across Sidama and Guji.

What if my package is delayed?

Sometimes our shipping partners experience delays due to weather, heightened demand, technical issues, pandemics, or aliens. All of which is out of our hands, except the aliens, but that's not for here.

If your package is delayed, let us know and we'll track it down and escalate its delivery. If it's delayed more than 2 weeks past the shipment date, and your order includes coffee, we'll either refund your money or ship you fresh coffee at no cost.

Can my coffee be ground?

By you? Yes. By us, sadly, no. Currently, we can only ship whole-bean coffee.

When will my order ship?

Freshness is critical to fully enjoying coffee. We roast to order to ensure your coffee is at peak freshness when it arrives. We roast to order and ship Monday-Thursday. Orders are usually fulfilled the production day after they are placed (for example, orders placed on Monday will ship on Tuesday). Orders placed Thursday-Sunday will be fulfilled and shipped on Monday.
